Day 1 - Hubpages Review

Day 1

Okay.

Right now I have a love hate relationship with HubPages.

I once had that with Twitter and now rank in the top 1% of Twitter for my @BodyByChocolate User ID according to Twitter Grader. My personal experience is that Twitter is a far better tool for spreading my message than FaceBook or MySpace.

I could be wrong.

I don’t think so though. Whatever the case, my new goal is to learn to use HubPages. To that end I decided to come up with a HubPages Review to help others learn this tool too.

With that said, let’s get started.

I need to be honest.

This is not my first hub. Actually I had about 10 hubs. Some received red flags while others were marked as duplicates. None of which I wanted, so I killed everything.

My precious bride had glanced at the menu of my hubs before I logged in today. A little while later she queried about all the lines in my hub titles, even ones that had not been flagged.

I told her I was starting fresh.

New.

Out with the old.

Only problem was, I didn’t know what I was going to write about till this idea of chronicling my journey hit me.

Today I spent a considerable amount of time looking through both the forum area as well as the answers area of HubPages to find some golden nuggets on how to write HubPages successfully.

While these two areas do seem to be informative, find something that clearly spelled this information out seemed daunting at best.

I consider that a problem, but certainly not to the extent of my frustrations with Squidoo.

The good part is that people do seem to be very interactive here. That and the fact that Google likes HubPages give me great incentive to keep plugging away as best I can. I also like how HubPages handles the process of linking to the affiliate accounts.

Let’s review:

  • Google loves HubPages
  • HubPages forums and answers seem nice
  • The community of HubPages is interactive

All good. However…

  • Finding exact answers to my specific questions about HubPages did not happen.
  • Deleting my existing hubs was not easy, I mean painful or perhaps it was both.

Time for me to post this page, or is this the hub? Or would the hub be the entire HubPages Review report? I’m not completely sure at this moment.

Whatever the case, tomorrow I’ll talk about how easy it was to post this article on HubPages. See you then.
